CINI 2010
Canada India Network Initiative 2010
Organized by Canada India Network Society and co-hosted by Fraser Health and Simon Fraser University with major partner of Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Government of Canada and India, to start a network amongst leaders in academic, industry, health service providers, policymaker to lower the burden of cardiovascular diseases. The conference was organized to be a forum of outcome-focused recommendations. The population-focused conference has a foundation in technology, economics, and education and to build a ground-level network between the people of Canada and India. The recommendations to have universal applications and practical applications locally and globally. The conference was based on ABC of A for Accountability of action, evidence, and outcomes, B for Books meaning transfer, sharing, and generation of knowledge, and C for catalyst meaning collaboration, coordination, and cooperation. Key recommendation of the conference was to establish a South Asian Health Institute in Fraser health to build culturally effective and efficient care for a diverse population.
2010 Highlights and Media Coverage:
CINI 2010 was the first ever-organized conference for invited leaders in different fields (Academia, Research, Health, Innovation, Industry and Public Policy) from Canada and India and provided major recommendations. South Asian Health Institute at Fraser Health is an outcome of the conference and it is anticipated that CINI 2014 will provide focused recommendations for additional implementation.
